FTP Instructions
If you are unfamiliar with FTP operations, please read the following instructions.
Uploading Files
Go here to view or download interactive ftp instructions.
All uploads at this site are completed using the username:pacdieftp2 password:transfer2. You can use either of two methods to upload. First, Netscape supports drag and drop capability. This is by far the most efficient process.
Try the following steps:
- Click on the "Give File" button. This will access the incoming box on the ftp server.
- On your own machine, open the folder containing the file you wish to upload.
- Tile the two windows.
- Using the mouse, click and hold down on the file.
- Drag the file from the directory over the browser window. Release the mouse button.
- The browser will ask if you wish to upload the file. Click "Yes."
Incidently, if you upload a file and do not see it listed in the folder, that is by design. The ftp box is secure and does not allow others to download or view the existing files.
The second way to upload a file is to use an ftp client such as WS_FTP. If your operating system or browser does not support drag and drop, activate your ftp client software. To connect, use the following information:
host machine: ftp.pacdie.com
path: /upload
Downloading Files Click on the button "Download File." This will open the "pub" directory on the ftp server. Find the file you wish to download and click on it. Save the file to an appropriate location on your harddrive.
